Sodium Carboxymethyl Cellulose SCMC is a cellulose derivative with carboxymethyl groups (-CH2-COOH) bound to some of the hydroxyl groups of the glucopyranose monomers that make up the cellulose backbone. Carboxymethyl Cellulose is often used as its sodium salt, sodium carboxymethyl cellulose.Sodium CMC is widely used for detergent powders, industries of petroleum wells drilling, paper making and textile, production of welding electrodes flux, ceramics, paint production, food and pharmaceutical industries, etc.Mining Grade CMC is used as a froth modifier in the flotation process, which is used to separate valuable minerals from gangue materials. Carboxylic Methyl Cellulose helps to stabilize the froth and improve the selectivity and efficiency of the flotation process.
